It’s never too early to start looking after your skin. In fact, the earlier you upgrade your skincare routine and take more steps to look after it, the more likely it is that you’ll have great skin for your whole life!

Start an anti aging skincare routine

Ensure you always thoroughly remove your makeup each day

It’s not the most exciting task in the world, but removing your makeup at the end of each day is really vital to ensure it stays healthy and looking its best, so it has time to rejuvenate and breathe.

Stop smoking and cut down on your alcohol consumption

Vices such as smoking and heavy drinking are bad for your overall health, but many of us tend to forget they’re also really harmful for our skin. As well as premature aging, these bad habits can lead to other problems such as decolouration and blemishes.

Avoid long bursts in direct sun light and always protect yourself

We’ve all been guilty of sun bathing excessively once in a while; especially on holiday, but this is another bad habit that really needs ditching. Upgrade your diet and drink plenty of water

Drinking the recommended daily amount of 8 glasses of water a day really does do wonders for your skin, so get into this habit in your 20s and there’s a good chance you’ll keep it up. Also, take the time to upgrade your diet by cutting down on sugary food, for example, too.

Don’t forget the skin on your body as well as your face

In a plight to ensure our skin stays youthful, we often abandon the rest of the skin on our bodies and just concentrate on our faces. This is a crying shame as the rest of our skin will need just as much treatment and attention to stay healthy and youthful. Pay particular attention to your neck and hands; moisturise regularly, particularly after showering and avoid hot showers to help look after your body’s skin.
